Who Are We?

Hello there!

Welcome to Psych et al

What Is Psych et al ?

Psych et al. stems from the combination of two words "psych" and "et al". Psych is the shorthand for Psychology while "et al" is a term used when citing research literature and is Latin for 'and others'. The aim of Psych et al., is to bring forth the psychological concepts that are hidden in plain sight and of course, do our part in trying to challenge the still-existing stigma around Psychology.

What's Our Story?

We are two psych graduates jaded by questions like "Can you read my mind?" and "Are you diagnosing me right now?".  And no matter how many times a little part inside us dies or how many times we want to scream, we shake our heads and say "No that is not psychology nor do we do that".

It does, however, make us consider how much the average person misses out on by not understanding the importance of psychology and how it affects their daily lives. Disclaimer, we are of the totally unbiased opinion that psychology is very important.

Whether it is superstitious behaviour or how we define our identities, psychology helps us explain these thoughts and behaviours.

Fascinating right?

We think so too.

We hope through Psych et al., we are able to show you how, in our everyday lives, psychology hides in plain sight while also feeding our never-ending curiosity.

Hi! I am Vasudha Iyengar

I am the Co-founder, Head of Design and Writer

I stumbled upon psychology in high school and was astounded by how complex the human mind is, as I kept learning, my passion grew. Nine years and two degrees later, I still am fascinated by how our surroundings and the people in them affect our behaviour and how we in turn influence them. The takeaway from my experience is no matter how complicated the world may seem, we can always find the reason for our actions. Damn, how cool would it be if someone could articulate that into a blog (wink wink).

Hi! I am Maragatha Vadivu

I am the Co-founder, Head of Marketing and Writer

I chose to study Psychology to understand all there is to the unending abyss that is the human Psyche. And by the time I was done with my Masters, I realized I had barely scratched the surface. Yet not much has changed in that I am still the same wide-eyed kid from 9 years ago, continuing to be fascinated by the discipline. I love observing the never-ending presence of psychology in my daily life as well as in this chaotic world we call home and having my 'Eureka' moments.

Here is to our journey to Bedlam and back!
