24. Information about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA), we may collect and use information from you. In this section of our Privacy Policy, we will explain how and why this data is collected, as well as how we keep this data safe from being replicated or misused.

What is GDPR?

GDPR is an EU-wide privacy and data protection law that regulates how companies protect EU residents' data and gives EU residents more control over their personal data.

What is personal data?

Any information pertaining to an identifiable or identified individual. GDPR covers a wide range of information that can be used alone or in conjunction with other pieces of information to identify a person. Personal data includes more than just a person's name and email address. Financial information, political opinions, genetic data, biometric data, IP addresses, physical addresses, sexual orientation, and ethnicity are a few examples. The Data Protection Principles include the following requirements:

  • Personal data collected must be processed in a fair, legal, and transparent manner, and used only in ways that a reasonable person would expect.

  • Personal data should only be collected and used for the purpose for which it was collected. When collecting personal data, organisations must explain why they need it.

  • Personal data should be kept for no longer than is required to fulfil its purpose.

  • The GDPR gives people the right to access their own personal data. They can also request that their data be copied, updated, deleted, restricted, or moved to another organisation.

What is the significance of GDPR?

GDPR introduces new requirements for companies to protect individuals' personal data that they collect and process. It also raises the stakes for compliance by increasing enforcement and imposing higher penalties for violations. Aside from these facts, it's just the right thing to do. Psych et al strongly believe that the privacy of your data is critical, and we already have solid security and privacy practices in place that go above and beyond the requirements of this new regulation.

Individual Data Subjects Rights- Data Access, Portability and Deletion

We are committed to assisting our customers in meeting GDPR's data subject rights requirements. All personal data is processed or stored by fully vetted, DPA-compliant vendors. Unless your account is deleted, we keep all conversations and personal data for up to 6 years. In that case, we will dispose of all data in accordance with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, but not for more than 60 days.

25. California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

CalOPPA requires us to disclose the types of Personal Information we collect and how we use it, as well as the sources from which we collect Personal Information and the third parties with whom we share it, as explained above.

Users of CalOPPA have the following rights:
